My Addy is currently wearing a similar hairstyle. It looks pretty much the same but yours may have shedded some because mine is slightly fuller. Only slightly though. Your Addy looks kinda cool with those silver eyes! A totally different look.

My Addy that I bought in 1994 is the same way. Have tried taking her hair down to see how it looks?

Teri...my Addy is a first issue, that I got right when she first came out. She does not have those bald spots. I really don't think that is normal, but I'm far from being an expert. I just know that my Addy has nice full hair in the back, and I often part it down the middle for braids.

I know yours a first issue, but if it were me, I think I'd replace her head.

Whatever you decide to do, though, she's a very special doll!

Lordy, she is even prettier after I took her hair down.

Those bald spots are covered up . She has a FULL head of hair.

Whoever braided her hair knew how to braid African American hair. She was braided down to the very tip.

    WOW her hair is coarse.

    She has gorgeous hair.

This is my Addy's hair in the back. So Jenny is right; the older Addy should have more hair. However, there are ways to fill in that hair in the back without sacrificing a first issue head. JMHO.

I'm sure the little wear that is shown on mine is from brushing throughout the years.

Thanks for sending the picture Dionne

After playing with her the bald does not even show. Actually I will probably put it in a loose pony tail.

Yes....the first issue Addy hair is very coarse. I just love it!

I will try to take a picture of my Addy's hair today, and post it for you.

Ultimately it's just going to come down to what you prefer. If you want a new full head of hair for you and your daughter to play with, without fear of more damage..... or if you are feeling too sentimental to change her head. There is something so special about getting a doll from your DH! My DH bought my Addy for me, and she's more special, because of it. Luckily...she has no silver eye...yet!

I got my Addy when DD was little...in fact, she was only 6 when I got Addy, and DD had Samantha. I never let DD style Addy's hair, unless I was right there with her. I think that's how my Addy has escaped the hair damage so many older Addy's have. I've had mine since she first came out!

I have heard that the newer Addy's hair isn't as coarse as the older ones. Does anyone know if that's true?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes. That's very true. My Addy's hair is much coarser(for lack of a better word) thank my DD's Addy that she received from AG for Christmas 2004
